hastings born and london based singer-songwriter poppy prescott draws even the rowdiest of crowds to silence with her soft soulful vocals and folk-style storytelling

New music is on the way this autumn, though the best introduction remains Poppy’s live shows – understated, open, and charming.
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE THAT CAME TO OUR SEASIDE TO CITY TOUR 2025! Folkestone > Margate > Hastings > Brighton > London

Just gorgeous… deft songwriting

Stream Poppy’s sophomore EP ‘Reasons Why’ now.
Tom Robinson called it an “understated gem”. Poppy’s ex-boyfriend called it “deeply offensive”.
Originally from just up the A259, Poppy grew up in Hastings, a seaside town that hosts a complicated balance of deprivation and seaside beauty. It’s in her most recent work, Reasons Why, that she sings about what it means to grow up as a young woman, in the familial sense (Afternoons), the geographical (Watching The Road), and the romantic (Jacket, Always Will).
Sport the merchandise of a local indie musician you love! In 2025, buying merch is the most impactful way to financially support Poppy’s music, and she’s got a limited run of cotton tote bags and postcards that can be bought on Bandcamp or at gigs.
All designs are made by Hastings artists, with thanks to: Autumn Dellaway, the painter behind all of Poppy’s artwork, tote bag graphic designer, Levi Wells, and editor, Jacob Wells.
